Musculoskeletal clinic (updated per email from Jose Yasul, November 23, 2015)
This is a teaching clinic with most patients seen by a resident and an attending. One provider has background as a physical therapist and an ergonomics consultant and is certified as a hand specialist.
Please consider this clinic for your patients with problems that do not require orthopedic surgical consideration. We do joint injections. We initiate home exercise programs.

How to order: "Musculoskeletal" in ccLink
Patient types:
1) ER follow-up from the week before (Monday to Sudnay) with the following diagnoses
Fractures that do not need reductions (Boxer's, Nightstick, Jones', non-displaced distal fibula, clavicle, etc)
Acute sprains (ankle, knee, wrist)
Acromial-clavicular separations
2) Sports related / overuse injuries, e.g. chronic shoulder pain, chronic knee pain, chronic ankle/foot pain, recurrent ankle sprain, chronic wrist pain, rotator cuff / subacromial bursitis, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, etc.
3) Sports concussion evaluations for return to play protocol
4) No chronic neck or back pain, please
Other options for Total Joint Replacements for non-CCHP Medicare/Medical patients - outside of CCHP. (per Jan Diamond 9/2009) These should be referred to our Orthopedics clinics. They will be managed thru the Total Joint protocol (email from Tremain, 10/09).
All patients managed by CCHP require PA thru CCHP for referral out for the procedure.
Medi-Cal patients would have to be referred to UCSF or UCD.
